2006 London England
Wembley Stadium has a long and rich history dating back to 1923, when it first opened. Its old name was Empire Stadium, and it was also called the Twin Towers before it was demolished in 2003.
Developed from scratch was a project based around the strategy on how people will enter and exit Wembley. This required a thorough study of customer flows, speed and timing, transportation methods, routes to each possible public and private space in the stadium and beyond, and integration of the planned flow with all building services and common areas. There were a 1,000,000+ other elements of the architectural design of the building which also had to be accounted for.
This project produced the efficiency with which the stadium is able to fill to near full capacity and then empty again, leaving only an echo of how many people were there just a few minutes ago.
